FSO -- Mahler Symphony No. 7
By Mark Flegg
We’ll be starting 2010 with a bang in Flint this month with a performance of Gustav Mahler’s seventh Symphony. It is always a joy to perform Mahler’s works. The trumpet parts in his symphonies are well-written and as musically gratifying as they are challenging. Come on out for an exciting evening! Also on the program will be the Reinecke Concerto in D major for Flute and Orchestra, featuring 2009 Byrd Competition winner Conor Nelsen. More Information is available at the FSO website (click here).
