Heroes, Legends and Empires - WORLD PREMIERE

On Sunday, March 6th, I will be performing the world premiere of the Concerto for Trumpet and Large Wind Ensemble by James Nissen. The performance will take place at Hill Auditorium in
Ann Arbor at 2:00 pm as part of the Ann Arbor Concert Band’s performance titled “Heroes, Legends and Empires.” 
This performance is the culmination of a long collaboration between myself and the composer, James Nissen. I first heard Jim’s music several years ago when his Requiem Mass was programmed as part of a concert in which I was playing. I was so taken by the piece that I contacted him to discuss the possibility of his writing a trumpet concerto. I think he’s written a fantastic piece and I feel honored to be introducing it to the world for the first time. You can get more information about the concert from the Ann Arbor Concert Band website.
